View topic - Laptops,

For personal reasons, I prefer a Laptop. It's easier to sneak online when your computer is a laptop. |D *shot to death*

Hullo there, call me Hiroko. :3
Just to clarify, I am a girl. |D

I prefer laptop.
1) I have no desk for a desktop
2) I like not having to get out of bed to get on the computer /lazy
3) Much easier for me to haul around the house in order to NOT be a hermit in my room and still be able to show my roomies ridiculous things I find online
4) When cleaning, I like listening to music...so I haul my laptop around then, too
5) I can stow it in a backpack for those long bus rides home...and I'll still have all my files when I get there
6) Taking notes in school/being able to work on essays whenever and wherever~

That ended up being longer than intended... o_o;

So now I have a quest
And while I'm at it, I also have a...hangout
I like standards (desktops). Yes, laptops are more comfortable, and can be moved. But I like having my computer in one place, where it's comfortable.

I like my laptop for most simple things, like my commission work. But I'm looking in to getting a new desktop for both the hard drive, memory, processor and the fact that I can load FAR more games onto it. My laptop is currently running Spore, Alice (the first one), Sims2, Florensia, Audiosurf, Furcadia, and at one point, had the computer copy of Fable, and LOTR online.
But I know the desktop could do SO MUCH MORE, so I think it depends on what you want to use it for for what you most prefer. o.o

Fizzgig says BUY!!
IMO, it depends on the computer.

I'm not the biggest fan of netbooks, for I like a 15 or 17 inch screen.

Though, the HP touchsmart is a really nice desktop, and the iMac is also really nice.

I'd probably go with laptop, though.
It's way more portable.

I generally prefer my lappy, only because I'm fairly mobile during the week.
Otherwise, I'd probably prefer a desktop.

My boyfriend prefers his desktop, but he's a big time PC gamer, so yeah.

oh i like both, however i think i prefer a desktop that way your lap doesn't get so hot from having the computer on it

I don't mind either, but out of convenience, I prefer laptops and netbooks. They're portable for the most part and I think I'd look rather stupid carrying my desktop around with me. My boyfriend prefers his desktop, he's a linux user so his desktop is customised to his standards that anything else he uses seems obsolete. And he won't let me use it, it's not like I'm going to break it..

I don't mind either, either.
I think I slightly prefer laptops due to being portable and easy to move around and to be able to just hold it while laying down in bed, but then I don't like worrying about the things that could break and the battery and all such x_x" Also since the keyboard is built in that gives me some amount of grief, too.
But it's good being able to haul it around with all I need.

I prefer desktop, I never have good experiences with laptops. Could just be the brand though, I guess. But never once have any my laptops last as long as a desktop.
I think it's nice that laptops are portable - but I never take it out of the house, so it's a bit useless to me. But for school/travel/etc, I would only assume one would pick a laptop.

Exchange Thread

I got a place for the wicked to go, got a mindset that nobody knows.
Right now, I love my laptop. I love how it's portable, and I'm not always confined to a desk/chair. xD

But I also like using my desktop too. Especially for projects. c:

I am not sure, but I probably would prefer laptops. Laptops tend to be faster than desktops and you can bring it anywhere you like. Plus, you can stab a mouse wire in so you can use the mouse instead for faster movement. On the other hand, desktops are slow and the opposite of laptops. You cannot bring them anywhere besides the place it is already sitting at.

A laptop is more fitting for me right now in life due to the fact it's easier to move with and you can take it anywhere. I'm usually out of my place more than I am in it so it's nice having a laptop to take for entertainment when I have to spend all night working at my school.

Once I graduate from college and get a permanent residence I'll probably think about getting a desktop, but for now I'm happy with how easy it is to go anywhere with a laptop.

Personally, I like laptops more. c:
Back when I was a kid, my family had one desktop for the family. When that computer aged to 10 years old, it finally died. o;
Then all of us got laptops. Only one has failed (but it was cheap).
I just like the convenience of laptops, how easily they can be moved. c;
I like the keyboard more too, or many I'm just used to it.

I prefer desktop.
When I do have a laptop, I don't go anywhere with it.
I treat it as any other desktop. It's just an annoying desktop... XD;

I don't like how they are built.
Everything is in close proximity to eachother so things can heat up to higher temps, and thus lowering the life spans. I'm not made of money and I've never been able to be employed. So if I spend my money on something, I expect it to last, you know?

As an artist, I like more space on my desk for my tablet as well as traditional mediums. It's nice that, on a desktop, that the key board is pretty optional. Saves a lot of desk space.

Plus, as someone already stated, it's easier to upgrade desktops. I like having beasts that play everything and handle art. XD;
